A staple in the life sim genre, Stardew Valley has produced an incredibly dedicated community, including a local Starbucks that shared a wholesome reference to the game in a store display. While some fans choose to share unique in-game Stardew Valley designs, others show their love for the game in more unexpected ways.

First released in 2016, Stardew Valley is a farming life sim game that allows players to create custom characters and enjoy relaxing gameplay such as fishing, mining, and foraging. Fans of the game frequently display their adoration for Stardew and its characters with in-game creations and real-world references.

Stardew Valley fan Sir_Sparda shared a photo of a welcome sign at their local Starbucks shop that was themed to some of the iconic characters and creatures from the game. The sign features a festive fall greeting along with chalk drawings of Harvey, Abigail, Krobus, and several Junimos carrying a pumpkin and a couple of apples. Harvey and Abigail are two of the romanceable NPCs in Stardew Valley, and Krobus is a shadow person who lives in the sewers and sells a variety of useful items such as void eggs. The Junimos are adorable little forest spirits that interact with the player when completing the Community Center. Together, they make for a welcoming display to both Starbucks lovers and Stardew Valley fans.

All of these characters are instantly recognizable to Stardew Valley fans, and their appearance on the sign at a Starbucks store in Carmel, Indiana, was a pleasant surprise. The chalk art perfectly captures Pelican Town’s Doctor Harvey, with his green jacket, wire-frame glasses, and trimmed mustache. Abigail, who is shown drinking the iconic pumpkin spice latte, has her classic purple hair and denim vest. Krobus’ anxious yet endearing expression makes for an amusing addition, along with the precious simplicity of the Junimos and their apple-like design.

While not an official collaboration or promotion, fans were happy to see Stardew Valley being referenced at a Starbucks location. One commenter teased that it was nice to see that the Starbucks employed “people of culture,” acknowledging that one of the employees was clearly a fan of the renowned game.

As fans continue to show their love in unique ways, Stardew Valley remains a pillar of the life-sim genre. With many players highly anticipating the Stardew Valley 1.6 Update, there will no doubt be more fun content for fans to share with both local and online communities.

Stardew Valley is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
