Rumor: Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti May Finally Be Out This Month

According to the latest rumors, it’s possible that Nvidia may finally be launching its long-awaited RTX 3090 Ti graphics card this month.

There’s a lot going on in the GPU market at the moment, especially for Nvidia. While graphics cards are starting to come back down in price, they’re still above MSRP, and the ongoing tech shortages have been making if difficult for gamers and PC enthusiasts to buy hardware. That and the company is having to cope with having its secure systems tampered with, and employee credentials leaked by hackers, not to mention backing out of its $40 bilion merger with Arm. All-in-all, team green is having a tough old time of it, but at least the RTX 3090 Ti is on the horizon. Maybe.

According to a report from Videocardz, which references a post on the Chiphell forums, there is a rumor that Nvidia may finally release its beefy graphics card, which could see out this current generation. According to one source, it seems as though the RTX 3090 Ti may be due for release on March 29, which is pretty much two months after it was supposedly going to be launched.

It needs to be reiterated that this is a rumor only, and that the company has not actually said whether this is true or not. It was only last month that Nvidia said it wouldn’t disclose details about the 3090 Ti, so officially the release date may still not be accurate. The reason behind this delay could be down to a memory-related problem or issues with the BIOS, but again, there has been no word from the horse’s mouth about whether this is the case. Either way, it may be worth keeping an ear to the ground on the off-chance that it does get released at the end of this month.

It seems as though Nvidia really needs to get cracking if it is going to release the successor to its already powerful RTX 3090. With AMD announcing its RDNA 3 at the start of February, and word spreading that Nvidia’s RTX 4000 series could be out this September, the clock is ticking on getting this new Ampere graphics card out there.

Of course, everyone is still unsure about what the market will look like in the coming months. With Intel saying the semiconductor shortage could go on until 2023, Nvidia needs to make sure that, as and when the RTX 3090 Ti does finally surface, people are able to get hold of it before the next generation begins. In any case, there’s hope yet that the tech giant will finally release its showstopper soon.
