Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Hosting Tandemaus Tera Raid Battle on Valentine’s Day

The Pokemon Company celebrates Valentine’s Day in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet by hosting a Tandemaus Tera Raid Battle for the occasion.

With Valentine’s Day coming up, many games are celebrating the annual holiday, including Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which is hosting Tandemaus Terastallized Raid Battles for the occasion. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced Terastallized Pokemon, which changed their base typing to vary combat, and it also hosts events in which players can acquire specific Pokemon like Tandemaus.

The Tandemaus Tera Raid Event will only be taking place for Valentine’s Day, and it’s currently unclear when more Tandemaus raids will drop in the near future, making it a special moment for fans of the Pokemon. Among the previous Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Raids were ones that centered on Armarouge, Ceruledge, Drifblim, Greninja, Mismagius, Dragapult, and more Pokemon for a limited time. Though Tera Raids provide a unique twist on Pokemon typing, the concept of Raids was first introduced with Pokemon Sword and Shield, but its addition to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet may suggest The Pokemon Company intends to stick with it for future releases.

The Serebii Twitter account recently shared information about the Valentine’s Day Tandemaus Tera Raid Battles, which the known Pokemon publication has confirmed. During the limited-time event, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can expand their Pokedex with the Tera Tandemaus between midnight February 14 and 11:59 P.M. UTC the following night, leaving just 24 hours to acquire the Pokemon. Because Pokemon Scarlet and Violet regularly host these events by connecting to the internet and thus the real-life calendar, the games utilize this internal clock to appropriately limit players from getting more time with the Tera Raid.

The Tandemaus Tera Raid Battles will consist of any star quality between one and five, making the 5-star encounters more coveted by players looking to perfect their Pokemon Scarlet and Violet teams. Tandemaus is typically a Normal-type Pokemon, but under the terastallized conditions for Valentine’s Day, it has the Fairy Pokemon typing, which is fitting given the holiday that the limited-time event takes place on. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans may be surprised that the Valentine’s Day Pokemon isn’t something more appropriate like Chansey or Luvdisc. However, the Pokedex reveals that the two mice are never seen alone and work together as one unit like many of the people celebrating the occasion.

Other Pokemon titles celebrating Valentine’s Day alongside Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are the mobile games Pokemon GO and Pokemon Masters EX which offer their own events for fans to progress through. Beyond the Pokemon franchise, gamers may also find Valentine’s Day events in live service titles like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Destiny 2, or World of Warcraft that provide their own twist on the annual tradition.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
