Pokemon Fan Builds Life-Size Bulbasaur Out of LEGOs

The Pokemon franchise has been around for several decades, and over those years, many new Pokemon have been introduced. While each generation has seen new and exciting creatures added to the Pokedex, many fans still feel nostalgic for some of the originals added in the first few games. Even decades later, Gen 1 still has arguably some of the most beloved and recognizable Pokemon in the entire series, such as Bulbasaur.

As mentioned above, Bulbasaur is a Gen 1 starter. First seen in Pokemon Red and Green, it is a Grass/Poison-type Pokemon that features a unique design. Some of its features include its blue-green coloration with dark spots across its body. In addition, this Pokemon has an instantly-recognizable plant bulb on its back. Recently, one artistic fan decided to recreate this Gen 1 starter in real-life.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as Ddave shared a collection of pictures of a recent LEGO project they had completed. However, this project stood out because the Reddit user had decided to make Bulbasaur from the Pokemon series. The results of this build were remarkable as they managed to make a life-sized version of the Pokemon using 10,000 LEGO bricks. In a picture, the creator stood next to the creation, revealing its impressive size. In addition, the image revealed that the LEGO model shared many of the details of Bulbasaur seen in the games, such as its signature plant bulb.

While this LEGO build is impressive, it is not the only Pokemon-themed creation made by Ddave. For those interested in seeing more, the Reddit user has several more LEGO builds posted on Reddit. For example, they have made replicas of fan-favorite Pokemon like Squirtle, Eevee, Charmander, and even Pikachu. Like the Bulbasaur design, each of these LEGO models features a similar level of detail.

Since posting these pictures of the life-sized LEGO Bulbasaur on Reddit, numerous members of the Pokemon community have taken notice. With over 800 upvotes in only a few hours, many gamers were impressed with the resemblance of the LEGO model to its in-game counterpart. “Super impressive! I’d definitely buy one of these,” WindyCityCollections said on Reddit. In addition, several fans jokingly suggested that the creator should build Wailord, one of the largest Pokemon in the franchise, for their next project.

While it might be hard to top this fan art made by Ddave, many other passionate Pokemon fans have been making creations of their own over the past couple of weeks. For example, one gamer recently shared a picture of a gold Mewtwo statue they had created. With Pokemon Scarlet and Violet recently announced for later this year, it seems inevitable that more fan art based on the series will be shared with the community in short order.
