A fan-made Genshin Impact chart can help players choose their free four-star character in the ongoing event named “The Exquisite Night Chimes”. This event is part of the Lantern Rite Festival which is an annual event in celebration of the Chinese New Year.
As per usual, Genshin Impact‘s Lantern Rite Festival is filled with new characters, weapons, and events that allow players to acquire event-exclusive rewards, including Primogems. The event is always hosted in the Liyue region which is one of the reasons why HoYoverse offers one free four-star character from this region.
During The Exquisite Night Chimes event, players can exchange the event currency for one free Liyue four-star character but in order to participate, they first need to finish the main Liyue Archon quest. An interesting post on the official Genshin Impact subreddit can help players choose their free four-star character. The chart was posted by Reddit user DXLi and already gathered over 3k upvotes with many comments agreeing that players should first pick the characters they like the most. Many players will probably choose Yaoyao since she is one of the new characters that arrived in Genshin Impact update 3.4.
There has been a lot of hype around Yaoyao’s arrival as she was teased in multiple Genshin Impact official artworks. The main reason why HoYoverse delayed her release is probably the fact that she uses the recently added Dendro element. Yaoyao’s kit revolves around providing both on-field and off-field healing for her party members thanks to the power of White Jade Radishes. Yaoyao is a very flexible character who can fill multiple team compositions.
Even though Yaoyao is the only new four-star character featured in the event, many comments claim that players that don’t have Xingqiu or Xiangling should pick one of these two units. Xingqiu is one of the best four-star supports in the game thanks to his constant Hydro application which makes him almost a must-have character for team comps that rely on Hydro elemental reactions. He has great synergy with the Pyro DPS Hu Tao, who has been confirmed for the second part of the update.
Xiangling is one of the best Pyro characters in the game in the current meta, despite her four-star rarity. This was also proven by most Spiral Abyss usage charts where she’s usually ranked very high. Even though Bennett is a more versatile four-star Pyro character, Xinagling offers much better off-field Pyro application.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
