Call of Duty Vanguard Visual Glitch is Ruining Multiplayer Matches

A major visual glitch is currently impacting Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer matches, ruining the experience for many players.

While Call of Duty may have gotten into the holiday spirit with its Festive Furvor event, it wasn’t always smooth sailing for players. The addition of the mythical beast Krampus cramped the style for many, targeting players who weren’t playing the objective and potentially ruining great rounds of Warzone. While Raven toned down the creature’s health, other issues have cropped up including one bug where Krampus was taking out Warzone players while being invisible.

While Krampus has continued to be a major thorn in the side of Call of Duty Vanguard players, other bugs and issues have also added another layer of frustration. Some are disappointed in the recycled free Call of Duty: WW2 holiday content being resold in Vanguard, while others were running into an issue where a skin for the character Samantha Maxis would render the character completely invisible. However, this isn’t the only visual related problem currently happening in Vanguard.

Recently, a new smoke-based visual effect glitch has been happening more and more during multiplayer matches, causing all sorts of chaos for players. Highlighted in a short clip by Call of Duty: Vanguard subReddit user Kuyun, the issue arises when smoke and incendiary grenades are used by players. Essentially, the bug causes the particle effects to continue to be seen by reigniting the previously thrown tacticals.

Kuyun notes that this problem really escalates on smaller Vanguard multiplayer maps like Shipment, where players simply turn their viewpoint and the smoke and fire reignites instead of disappearing. Naturally, this makes it nearly impossible for players on both sides to actually play normally. Others commented on the clip, with some saying that the process continues to repeat as more tacticals are thrown, basically continuing the cycle for the entire match. Unfortunately, Raven has yet to respond to the visual glitch, likely due to part to the holiday break.

When Raven developers do return to the office, they’ll also likely see another community request, with players pushing for a few reworks for how Vanguard weapon camo is unlocked. Many have started to criticize the grind for unlocking certain camo, calling certain requirements rediculous. Some objectives like getting 100 longshots with a close range weapon like an SMG or even scoring 30 five kill streaks for less experienced players are been highlighted by the community as being tedious, unfun, and simply bad additions to the game.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
