When Does Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 Start?

Fortnite is a game that has managed to stay at the forefront of the gaming industry, despite pushing over five years in age. This is largely in part to its near-constant stream of updates, whether it be through the rolling out of mid-season updates or a new season altogether. With Season 2 having been out for a long while, fans are beginning to wonder about details regarding the upcoming Season 3, including its release date.

Epic Games’ ever-popular free-to-play battle royale title is now in the third calendar month of its Chapter 3, Season 2. Launched March 20, the current Fortnite season shocked gamers everywhere when it took away its signature building mechanic, leaving players to develop different strategies with the newly-added mobility moves like sprinting and mantling. Proving to be immensely divisive, building was eventually restored to the main Battle Royale mode, along with a dedicated Zero Build Mode for those who prefer the game without it.

When Does Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 Start?

With roughly two whole months transpiring since the launch of Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2, fans have begun to wonder when Chapter 3, Season 3 will start. Fortunately, it seems players won’t have to wait too much longer, although there is still a bit of time left. While Epic Games has yet to make an announcement, Fortnite‘s Season 2 Battle Pass ends on Friday, June 3, meaning Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 will start on Saturday, June 4. Should the schedule hold, Season 2 will clock in at 76 days, placing it on the shorter end of the season-length spectrum.

Although Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 is still nearly a month away, potential details about its content have already begun to leak. A couple of weeks ago, notable Fortnite leaker and dataminer HYPEX discovered a series of files that revealed Klombos are returning, but with an interesing twist. The massive, dinosaur-like creatures will be killable, dropping a range of 15 different types of loot including ammo, materials, consumables, and possibly weapons. It remains unclear whether these new Klombos will be inherently hostile, or simply retaliate when attacked.

However, while Fortnite players may be getting excited about Season 3, there’s still a good chunk left of Season 2 left to go. Fortnite‘s latest update patch added The Battle For Tilted Towers, tasking players with pushing back waves of IO Guards in order to reclaim the fan-favorite POI, leaving the stronghold of Command Cavern the last location controlled by the sinister Imagined Order. The update also unvaults the Choppa, not seen in the main game since Chapter 2, Season 4.

The current season has also recently seen the return of Lightsabers, along with a variety of other Star Wars content. While Season 3 is coming relatively soon, players still have plenty of things to do until then.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
