Square Enix has been putting a lot of emphasis on not only its AAA game market, but also its mobile gaming demographic as well. From the upcoming mobile battle royale Final Fantasy 7 First Soldier to War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, there has been a lot of movement from the company in this space. Brave Exvius in particular has been keeping players active in variety of ways, such as collaborations with other games and franchises.
Most of the collaborations with War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius have been other Square Enix games. This includes Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Nier Automata, and even a collaboration with Tomb Raider. As such, many of the crossovers for War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius have so far only been for properties that are owned by Square Enix. That being said, the most recent collaboration that was announced to be coming to the game will be an exception, with Atlus’ Persona 5 Royal being featured.
The trailer shows that three of Persona 5‘s Phantom Thieves will be added as Ultra Rare units to the game. These include the charismatic leader Joker as well as his partner, second-in-command, and strategist Queen. Violet, who joined the team in Persona 5 Royal, will also appear. The three of them will use their personas to attack the enemy, and will have special attacks that are beautiful re-creations of their All-Out-Attack animations.
Moreover, three bosses from Persona 5 will be added to War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, those being Cognitive Kamoshida, Kaneshiro, and Niijima in a special event quest. The maps these three bosses will be fought in also resemble their boss arenas from the original game, such as a bank vault for Kaneshiro and a casino roulette table for Niijima. Completing this quest will allow players to acquire materials that can help level up these new units as well recipes for Joker’s knife and Queen’s Brass Knuckle weapons.
This surprising collaboration event will be running from December 22, 2021 to January 31, 2022, where players can get Persona 5‘s Joker and Queen on December 22. Violet will come a bit later on January 1st. The event will only be available for Japanese players at this time, though it’s likely coming to the west version at a later date, as new content usually arrives about a few months later.
War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is available on Android and iOS mobile devices.
