Looking for a great Genshin Impact Itto build? The Oni gang leader is about to drop in-game alongside the Geo general, Gorou, and it feels like this one has been a long time coming. I guess we’d usually get the new characters at the start of each version, but this time we got the Eula and Albedo rerun instead. Needless to say, the strength and synergy of these new characters is a litte scary.
More top Genshin Impact builds
While Gorou will probably be the most played of the two, due to his ridiculous utility in regards to Geo characters, Arataki Itto isn’t a slouch either—except in the delinquent aspects of his character. Just as Kokomi was a super-Barbara, Itto is kind of a super-Noelle. He doesn’t have the maid knight’s shields or healing, but he does have the same defense-based attack buff for his burst state, as well as Geo infusion.
Like Noelle, this makes him pretty easy to build, and with the new Geo-focused artifact set from the Slumbering Court domain, he’s set to be a strong addition to the team, especially if you run him with Gorou. In this Genshin Impact Itto build guide, I’ll give you the usual details in regards to abilities and ascension materials, but also a theorycrafted build for the five-star Geo character.
Builds
The best Genshin Impact Itto build
Arataki Itto’s real strength is his normal and charged attacks and how he buffs them with stacks of Superstrength Superstrength and the Raging Oni King state he gains from his burst.
Geo DPS
- Weapon: Redhorn Stonethresher
As usual, the best weapon for Itto is the five-star claymore that’s dropping alongside him. The Redhorn Stonethresher is a pretty straightforward weapon, boosting defense by 28% and normal and charged attack damage by 40% of defense. Considering the attack buff from Itto’s burst is also based on defense, this should help him deal some impressive damage.
A good alternative four-star claymore would probably be Whiteblind, since it also increases defense, and when you land a normal or charged attack, boosts both attack and defense by 6% for six seconds, stacking up to four times. Whiteblind is also a decent free-to-play weapon as you can forge and refine it yourself.
- Artifact: (4) Husk of Opulent Dreams
The Husk of Opulent Dreams is one of the two new artifact sets that were introduced in Genshin Impact 2.3. While the other set is made for healers, this one was basically made for Itto. First, it boosts defense by 30% for two-pieces, which further adds to Itto’s burst attack buff, and for four-pieces it introduces a stackable called Curiosity.
You get Curiosity by hitting characters with Geo attacks, which synergises well with Itto’s burst. It can also be gained for every three seconds that a character is off the field. Curiosity grants a 6% bonus to defense and Geo damage for every stack up to four, but a stack will dissipate every six seconds you don’t gain one. As you’d imagine, even more defense and Geo damage, makes Itto even stronger.

How to get Itto in Genshin Impact
Arataki Itto releases on December 14 on the Oni’s Royale banner. He’ll be featured alongside four-star Geo bow-user, Gorou, as well as Pyro chef, Xiangling, and Hydro healer, Barbara. If you want to grab Itto, that’ll be your chance, as beyond that it’s uncertain whether he’ll get a rerun in future.

Ascension materials
Arataki Itto’s Ascension materials
Character
You’ll need to find specific Ascension materials to level up Arataki Itto. Geo Hypostases and Golden Wolflords drop the Prithiva Topaz items, and Riftborn Regalia are dropped by Golden Wolflords over level 30. You’ll also need the following items:
- Onikabuto
- Slime Condensate/Secretions/Concentrate
Onikabuto are found in various areas in Inazuma, but these strange beetles are often seen on Narukami Island. Slime items are dropped—rather unsurprisingly—by slimes. You shouldn’t have any issue finding these enemies, but they’re often found around bodies of water.
Talents
Here are the items you’ll need to level up Arataki Itto’s talents:
- Teachings/Guide/Philosophies of Elegance
- Slime Condensate/Secretions/Concentrate

- Crown of Insight
The Elegance items are obtained from the Violet Court domain on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays while, as mentioned above, the Slime items are dropped from slime enemies of different world levels. The Ashen Heart is a reward for defeating the weekly boss La Signora at level 70 or above. Lastly, the Crown of Insight is a reward for upgrading the Frostbearing Tree in Dragonspine or the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma. You can also get it from various seasonal activities, like the recent Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event.
