Strange Call of Duty: Warzone Bug Sets Iron Sights On Fire

Another Call of Duty: Warzone bug is impacting the game’s ADS mechanic, with the latest issue giving players incendiary iron sights.

While Call of Duty: Warzone players have several options when it comes to weapon customization, fiery iron sights is not one of them. A new bug us making them a reality, though, with the Call of Duty: Warzone glitch being as interesting as it is distracting.

Burning optics are far from the only ADS glitch in Call of Duty: Warzone. Recently, a bug saw players being blinded when aiming down their weapons, with a flashbang-like effect showing up on their screen. Another bug saw weapons being held up to the noses of Operators, with the noses completely obscuring the reticle and making aiming impossible. While flaming iron sights may be a bit less problematic than these two examples, they still making aiming more difficult than it should be.

A Call of Duty: Warzone player and Reddit user named davedavewowdave shared their experience with the ADS bug. A brief clip posted by the player sees a flame in the center of their weapon, with it looking as if someone has lit a match on top of the gun. The issue with this fiery bug is not so much the flame itself, but the position of it. The fire rests directly in between the iron sights of the weapon, meaning that it completely blocks the player’s aim whenever they try to line up the shot. With the fire extending over the sights, too, it is even harder to guess if a shot is lined up correctly.

For those looking to avoid this Call of Duty: Warzone issue in their own games, staying away from the canisters would be wise. Added alongside Caldera, explosive canisters can be tossed and set off to create fiery explosions and deal some serious damage to groups of enemies. It seems like lighting them up in busy areas can be dangerous, however. While lighting one of the canisters, davedavewowdave was shot by an enemy. These two actions happening at the same time seems to be what caused the bug to happen.

Hopefully, Raven Software will be able to respond to this glitch soon. While some commenters joked that it looked cool and that some gamers would buy a weapon blueprint with the buggy flame, it would become a lot less entertaining if it became a regular occurrence. Players being forced to avoid explosive canisters out of fear that the glitch could happen to them is disappointing, as gamers should be able to engage with all the new mechanics of Caldera.

For now, all players can do is make Raven aware of the new ADS bug. The sooner the developer becomes aware of the issue, the quicker it can release a Call of Duty: Warzone update that gets rid of the game’s latest aiming-related problem.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
