The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is among the most celebrated games of all time, enjoying massive critical and commercial success. Despite coming out more than a decade ago, Skyrim remains one of the leading games as it made its way back into the top 20 best-selling games in May. As per the data released by the NPD Group, Skyrim was slightly behind Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which occupied the 19th spot.
The incredible success of Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is a clear indication that gamers still spend countless hours on the action-RPG. Skyrim‘s vast open-world gives ample opportunities for players to explore while completing quests and encountering formidable foes. Naturally, many imaginative gamers look for shortcuts or moves like the one Skyrim trick that grants a free dragon soul without actually killing a dragon.
Following this trend of Skyrim tricks, one player has found an easy way to survive falls from high places. Reddit user Doggsen09 uploaded a video showing them surviving a fall from a cliff through an intriguing maneuver. Interestingly, the Redditor uses a consumable item moments before hitting the land to aid their survival. This mysterious ingredient is Netch Jelly, which has paralyzing properties, suggesting that consequential paralysis avoids fall damage. After consuming Netch Jelly just before impact, the user hits the ground and appears in a state of paralysis before abruptly standing up and moving on.
It is not the first time players have used Netch Jelly to survive falls, as previously, another Skryim player avoided fall damage in a similar fashion. Netch Jelly is incredibly rare and one of the only seven alchemical ingredients used in Smithing. Skyrim players also come across Netch Jelly in the “Fetch the Netch” quest, where they need to retrieve Netch Jelly samples to Milore Ienth. This rare item is dropped by Netches, which are jellyfish-like creatures and can also be found in the Alchemy Lab during “The Final Descent” quest. Gamers can also purchase a couple of Netch Jelly samples from Edla in Skaal Village.
Skyrim fans might have to fidget with similar tricks for quite some time as they eagerly wait for the next installment in the franchise. Bethesda has dropped subtle hints about the upcoming game since the announcement of The Elder Scrolls 6 at E3 back in 2018, but there’s still a lot more to learn about the project.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
