Skyrim Player Gets Stuck in Fireplace After Enemy Attack

An unlucky Skyrim player takes a tumble into a fireplace after being shouted at by a Draugr Deathlord and then is unable to get out. Many Skyrim players are well aware of the game’s intense physics engine and how it can cause interesting reactions and can sometimes cause their characters to get into some unfortunate situations.

Whether Skyrim glitches cause players to run on top of their horse or run into errors with the physics engine, the gameplay experience of the fifth installment in the Elder Scrolls series is full of quirks. Skyrim players are used to these situations, and usually, they are fairly harmless and just bring about a brief, humorous derailment of whatever is happening.

Sometimes, though, Skyrim’s gameplay quirks and glitches can be more debilitating. Redditor ktmartinez gets blown back by a shout from a Draugr Deathlord and their character ends up inside of a fireplace. The character’s “getting up” animation further pushes the Dragonborn into the small entrance of the fireplace. Once he is up, the character is able to move around a little bit but is not able to get low enough, even by crouching, to get back out of the fireplace.

Though Skyrim has a plethora of mods that can be installed, it is a shame for ktmartinez that there isn’t a mod for lying down and then army crawling forward, because it may be the only real way that they would be able to get out of the fireplace. Although, with the sheer number of mods that exists in the game, there may already be a mod like this in existence.

Another option for ktmartinez to get out of the fireplace would be to use Skyrim‘s console commands on a PC, and people in the comments even tell them to do so. However, they confirm that they are playing on a console, so that option is not available to them. Unfortunately, all they are able to do is either quit out of the game and restart or just wait until they take enough damage from the flame to die and respawn elsewhere.

Skyrim is a game that is full of bugs and glitches and other such quirks that cause fascinating and, often, hilarious interactions with the environment. It is sure to provide many more countless hours of entertainment for players as they await the release of the next Elder Scrolls game.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim – Anniversary Edition is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
