Silent Hill 2 James Sunderland Figure Release Window and Price Revealed

Fans of Silent Hill 2 looking to collect series collectibles will be glad to know that a previously revealed James Sunderland statue has had its price and release window announced. The figure joins a line-up of other Silent Hill merchandise that was announced during the same spree as the Silent Hill 2 remake’s reveal.

Silent Hill fans are anxious and eager right now due to Konami’s renewed interest in releasing Silent Hill games. After years of dormancy, new Silent Hill games like Silent Hill f have been unveiled, Silent Hill: Townfall was announced, and more details were finally provided on the third Silent Hill movie coming to theaters.

It’s been several months since the Silent Hill Transmission, and Gecco, the manufacturer behind some of the revealed Silent Hill collectibles, is now ready to fully showcase James Sunderland’s figure. James is available for pre-order now for 42,000 yen, or $316 based on currency conversions at the time of writing. As previously shown, James is arriving in 1/6 scale, coming in at nearly a foot in height. James is set to ship between August and November of 2023, and pre-orders will close on May 31, so fans shouldn’t wait too long to get their orders in.

The James Sunderland figure can’t be posed, but like many other recent gaming statues and action figures, comes with a variety of weapons he can hold. The list includes his handgun, wood plank, pipe, and shotgun, as well as Pyramid Head’s Great Knife. The figure is the second in the new Gecco line for Silent Hill 2, with Pyramid Head releasing first, and Maria set to launch sometime in the future. It remains to be seen if the figures will arrive prior to the Silent Hill 2 remake, as Bloober Team hasn’t announced a release date for the title yet.

So far, Silent Hill fans seem to be cautiously hopeful about the Silent Hill 2 remake, but it has a lot to live up to. Even a prior Silent Hill developer has claimed that the Silent Hill 2 remake is a poison chalice in that meeting fans’ expectations will be extremely difficult. The pressure is likely only further increased due to the success of other survival horror classics like Dead Space and the Resident Evil receiving highly praised remakes. Bloober Team seems to be committed to giving the game the polish and attention it deserves, but even fans who shy away from the remake can at least enjoy these collectibles while remembering the original Silent Hill 2 with fondness.

Silent Hill 2 originally released in 2001. The Silent Hill 2 remake’s release is TBA for PC and PS5.
