The new PlayStation Plus Extra games will be available from January 17, and fans now have a better idea of how much space they require.

The storage requirements of the new games coming to PS Plus Extra in January 2023 have now been revealed. In addition to a massive catalog featuring hundreds of PS5 and PS4 games, PlayStation Plus Extra users get access to new titles every month.

Sony has announced the PS Plus Extra lineup for January 2023, as users can play games like Back 4 Blood, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition, and Life is Strange at no extra cost. These games will be available from January 17, so gamers need to wait for just a few more days before they can start playing. Now, the file sizes of these titles have been revealed, allowing fans to get a better idea of how much space they will need.

According to PlayStation Game Size, the PS5 version of Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition will take up 42.489 GB, as compared to 37.263 GB for the PS4 edition. Another marquee game from this month’s lineup, Back 4 Blood, will need 44.633 GB and 62.395 GB for the PS4 and PS5 editions respectively. Just Cause 4: Reloaded is another massive game, as it requires 58.999 GB of space on PlayStation consoles, with Erica also taking up 40.171 GB of storage space.

Players will probably not have to clear up much space for the rest of the games coming to PS Plus Extra in January 2023. PlayStation Game Size mentions that the original Life is Strange needs 15.098 GB of space, while Life is Strange: Before the Storm takes up 21.775 GB. It should be noted that different episodes of both Life is Strange games take up varying amounts of storage.

The remaining PS Plus Extra games for January 2023 are relatively small, as Omno and Dragon Ball FighterZ need 2.164 GB and 7.255 GB respectively. Jett: The Far Shore, the final game on this list, needs 4.744 GB of storage for the PS5 version, with 9.288 GB required for its PS4 counterpart. Overall, it looks like PS Plus Extra users will not have to delete too many games to play the new titles they will get access to later in January 2023.

PlayStation Plus Premium members will get to play more games, as Sony offers some classic titles that also come out in January. It confirmed that PS Plus Premium subscribers can play Hot Shots Golf 2, Star Wars Demolition, and Syphon Filter 3 from January 17 at no extra cost.
