Pokemon Fan Makes Collection of Crochet Snorlax

One Pokemon fan makes a collection of nine real-life Pokemon dolls using the art of crocheting to create a selection of rainbow Snorlaxes.

The Pokemon fanbase is filled with talented people, so it’s no surprise to learn that many of these fans are hard at work creating tributes to their favorite Pocket Monsters. These tributes span many different crafts and artistic disciplines, including crocheting. Now, one Pokemon fan has made an entire collection of multicolored crochet Snorlaxes.

Snorlax is known as the Sleeping Pokemon and takes the form of a giant, round creature covered in dark green fur. Its face, stomach, and feet are tan, and it has cat-like ears or horns growing from its head. The Pokemon’s eyes are always closed, and two small fangs poke out of its mouth, giving it a very distinct facial expression.

Redditor JonYehWest shared a photograph of their recent creations–a batch of nine crocheted rainbow Snorlax, each with a distinct color. Each plush is shown sitting up with one paw raised and the other at its side. One of the Snorlaxes sports the iconic green and tan fur, but some of the other dolls feature much more outlandish coloration. Interestingly, none of the dolls appear to have the Pokemon’s shiny color scheme, possibly because shiny Snorlax is a dark blue and tan that is difficult to tell apart from regular Snorlax.

The first row of three Snorlaxes is a silver-gray Snorlax, a brown Snorlax, and a dark green Snorlax. In the second row, things begin to get odd with a deep red Snorlax, a bright gold Snorlax, and a Snorlax with fur in various shades of mottled black, gray, and blue. The third and final row features a mint green Snorlax, a bright orange Snorlax, and a rose pink Snorlax. Each doll has thin black lines to represent closed eyes and a thin mouth. This does mean that one of the Pokemon’s trademarks, its fangs, is not present on any of the dolls.

As of writing, it appears that other Pokemon fans have embraced these crochet Snorlaxes with open arms. Several users expressed a desire to own the dolls, with one user even declaring they would buy the lot. Unfortunately, according to JonYehWest, all of these Snorlax dolls have already found homes. However, the artist did state that they might create another batch of crocheted Snorlaxes in the future. It remains to be seen what colors they use in the upcoming set of Pokemon dolls. Perhaps the next batch will feature a dark blue shiny Snorlax.
