Renowned content creator PewDiePie has made his highly-anticipated return to YouTube, and has done so in quite a big way. The prolific YouTuber and streamer has posted his first video in several weeks, with the subject of the video documenting the process of the birth of his first child.

PewDiePie, whose actual name is Felix Kjellberg, is a Swedish YouTuber, and arguably one of the most popular creators on the platform of all time. Having had a successful career on the site for well over a decade, PewDiePie has amassed an astounding amount of subscribers, currently at a count of 111 million. News of the impending fatherhood broke back in February when PewDiePie and his wife first made the baby announcement, which has now arrived in the form of their son Björn.

The extended video PewDiePie has posted documents the emotional leadup to Björn’s arrival, as well as his experience with the first few weeks of becoming a father. The beginning portion of the video shows him dropping his wife Marzia off at the hospital, where he talks about being “very nervous” about the whole situation, and that he had “no experience” to relate to in terms of fatherhood. Despite there being a point of concern where his wife would potentially have to get a C-section, Björn’s birth ended up being smooth sailing.

Following Björn’s arrival, PewDiePie documents adjusting to their new life at home with a newborn. Included footage during this part of the video includes the reactions from his beloved famous dogs, Edgar and Maya, who appear to be intensely interested in the latest addition to the household. Edgar is well-known among PewDiePie’s fans, especially after a Japanese governor used the dog to promote tourism in the Gunma Prefecture in late 2022.

Due to the massive life change in becoming a father, its unlikely Kjellberg will reach the content production level of a few years ago anytime soon. PewDiePie famously quit YouTube last year, which ended up being more of a downshift in content quantity due to a work/life imbalance. He announced another break from the platform in late June in anticipation of Björn being born, and it remains unclear just how much he’ll be uploading in the near future.

Whenever and wherever he decides to pop up next, it likely won’t be on Twitch. PewDiePie’s Twitch account was banned yet again a few weeks ago for unknown reasons, which had been playing re-runs of his older content. Any kind of break seems to be well understood by his fanbase, with nothing but compliments and congratulations showering the baby video’s comment section.
