MLB The Show 22 Releases Mother’s Day Event, New Series For May

With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, and a new month arriving, San Diego Studio is taking full advantage of the new season in MLB The Show 22.

They say that April showers bring May flowers, but in the world of MLB The Show 22, a new season welcomes new content and features that will keep players busy. With Mother’s Day on the horizon and the weather becoming warmer, MLB The Show 22 reveals the latest batch of in-game content for the upcoming week.

Over the next week, players will have a chance to complete a new Conquest map and obtain units from a new series pack as part of the festivities. MLB The Show 22 is fresh off a successful week with its Spring Cleanup Event, which featured five bosses to challenge and takedown to receive great rewards.

A new Conquest Map called “Mother’s Day Flowers” is now available to take on and rewards players with 30,000 EXP toward the Featured Program. Players are tasked with taking down five MLB teams, including the Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles, and the Atlanta Braves. It marks the first Conquest Map of the new month after MLB The Show 22 released several during the April content update. The map resembles a top-angle view of a bouquet of roses, lending to the given title, but many have noticed it also looks like a heart.

Closing up the April Monthly Rewards Program, three new Diamond-tier players are hitting the list of units via experience collection. Joining the mix are 86-overall right fielder Travis Demeritte of the Atlanta Braves, 86-overall starting pitcher Tylor Megill of the New York Mets, and 86-overall shortstop Willy Adames of the Milwaukee Brewers. As players earn experience throughout the event, they can land 92-overall Diamond Anthony Rizzo of the Lightning series. Collecting and adding him to the lineup is a great way to boost up a team’s batting average with one of the best first basemen in MLB The Show 22, but it will also earn players 10,000 EXP toward the Spring Cleanup Featured Program.

The April Monthly Rewards event is still active, and players can take on the many challenges to receive rewards like Topps Now featured units Madison Bumgarner and Trevor Story, who are both Diamond-tier level with a 91 overall rating. Players are restricted to using Monthly Awards, Topps Now, and Live Series players and roster a team with an overall rating no higher than 90-overall while playing in three-inning games on All-Star difficulty. Bumgarner is one of the better available pitchers in MLB The Show 22 and is an excellent addition to any bullpen, as is Story at the shortstop position.

MLB The Show 22 is available on PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
