The latest Showdown for MLB The Show 21 has had a frustrating bug since its arrival. Those who complete the 11th Inning Showdown, a draft gauntlet of increasingly difficult mini-bosses, were rewarded a special voucher for 35,000 XP in the 11th Inning Program. Further, this reward could be earned endlessly, for those who completed the 11th Inning Showdown multiple times. That doesn’t mean much when the vouchers were broken and couldn’t be turned in, though. Luckily, a fix for MLB The Show 21‘s voucher bug is now live.
A recent message posted to the official MLB The Show Twitter account confirmed that developer Sony San Diego was aware of the 11th Inning Showdown vouchers. At the time, San Diego told players that they were still able to complete the 11th Inning Showdown and collect vouchers, they just couldn’t be redeemed. Hours after that message, San Diego confirmed that server maintenance for MLB The Show 21 would be done Saturday to fix the issue. That’s now complete and vouchers should work like normal.
MLB The Show 21 players should now be able to redeem all the vouchers that they’ve earned via the 11th Inning Showdown since the event began. The MLB The Show 21 bug shouldn’t have prevented players from earning a voucher, nor should it have deleted players’ vouchers if they tried to redeem them. It just wasn’t allowing the redemption process to go through.
The 11th Inning Program is full of great rewards for MLB The Show 21 players to earn, so they’re going to need all the vouchers that they can get. 770,000 XP is necessary to unlock players from the 9th Inning Bosses, which will be a target for a lot of players. Albert Pujols unlocks at a healthy 1,500,000 XP. The final potential unlock is the 5-pack holiday bundle at 2,000,000 XP.
Many MLB The Show 21 players are looking at the 11th Inning Program and its associated seasonal content like it could be the last post-launch support for last year’s release. As such, they’re starting to look toward what might come next. MLB The Show 21 was announced on February 1, 2021, and launched on April 20. It does seem like it’s time for MLB The Show 22 to be revealed.
With the likely announcement of MLB The Show 22 coming up soon, it’s not so surprising to see San Diego responding to issues quickly. No one at San Diego wants to see the announcement of MLB The Show 22 derailed by frustrations with live service content. Luckily, in this case, the fix came quickly, and excitement for the next game continues to grow unabated.
MLB The Show 21 is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
