When discussing the most influential superhero video game franchises to have spawned in recent years, Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham series is certain to be mentioned by gamers and critics alike. Starting in 2009 with Arkham Asylum all the way up to 2015’s Arkham Knight, each installment in the series was often met with critical acclaim for nearly every aspect. But as well as the characters, gameplay, and story, one of the biggest highlights has to be the iconic locations each game is set in. Now, one skilled gamer has recreated one legendary area from Arkham Knight, showing what it would look like in the blocky world of Minecraft.
For the uninitiated, while Minecraft mainly features modes where the primary goal is to survive against the odds, those feeling a little inspired can hop over to the Creative mode to make some impressive Minecraft building designs. This mode grants players an unlimited amount of blocks and materials, plus a guaranteed absence of enemy mobs. So, with a vast portion of the player base using this mode to recreate popular settings from video games and movies, it should come as no surprise that one committed builder has now invested the time in bringing a slice of Gotham to Minecraft.
Leaving many members of the community blown away because of the sheer scale of the blocky production, Reddit user iIRaptorIi_DC has recently revealed their latest recreation based on part of the iconic Bleake Island district in Batman Arkham Knight. Soon after sharing the four images included in the post that showcase the extraordinarily detailed recreation, Reddit users quickly met the massive construct with over 1,500 upvotes on the Minecraft subreddit. Many users even stopped by the comment section to praise iIRaptorIi_DC in their efforts, as they appreciated seeing such a legendary location from the game being transported into Minecraft.
This Minecraft crossover with Batman has it all. Bearing an amazing heavy likeness to its Arkham Knight counterpart, this version of Chinatown houses many retail stores, banks, and entertainment facilities. However, more notable than the other environmental icons has to the looming yet luminous clock tower that can be seen in the distance. Between the Chinatown and Cauldron districts on Bleake Island, this iconic clock tower manages to surprisingly retain all of its quintessential imagery and warm glowing lighting that is also seen in Arkham Knight.
With this stunning Minecraft fan creation going viral within the community, hopefully, this will serve as motivation for players to aspire to replicate more iconic landmarks from Gotham. With that, it is intriguing to see what other encouraged structures gamers can deliver to the community in the coming days.
Minecraft is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
