Lucky Diablo 4 Players Can Game All Day While Blizzard Covers Their Chores

A new Diablo 4 promo will give lucky players a chance to grind the game all day while Blizzard covers their chores. This is just one of the interesting marketing strategies that’s come out to promote Diablo 4, including a partnership with KFC to offer early beta codes.

Diablo 4 is the much-anticipated fourth game in the Diablo franchise featuring Lilith, daughter of the Lord of Hatred Mephisto, as the main antagonist. While it’s set to fully launch on June 6th, the game is currently out in early access beta. Many players seem to be enjoying the game so far, but have also experienced frustrating bugs, with one causing their Diablo 4 characters to get deleted completely.

Nonetheless, developer Blizzard has found unique ways to hype up Diablo 4 through unexpected partnerships. The latest one is with American home services website Thumbtack to coincide with Diablo 4‘s open beta weekend. According to Diablo‘s official Twitter page, Blizzard will be giving away over $20,000 in Thumbtack services to help players residing in the US with their “Earthly duties” while they’re busy gaming. The promotional video also shows a hooded man from the game doing random chores around the house. Interested players only need to reply with their to-do lists from March 20, 12pm ET to March 23, 12pm ET for a chance to win.

So far, many players have sent in lists of tasks they needed help with to the Diablo Twitter page, which include cleaning, taking care of their kids, and doing the groceries. There are also funny requests, like remodeling an entire home and throwing away KFC Double Down wrappers they “used for Lilith’s summoning ritual.” One also compared spring-cleaning to Diablo‘s Challenge Rifts because of how tiring it can be.

Despite having a rocky first impression, Diablo 4 still seems to have a steady player base who are already grinding to get good items and weapons. Although there may still be some issues with the early access beta, like Diablo 4‘s UI, Blizzard still has time to fix and fine tune them before the game’s June launch.

Many players are also expecting a lot with Diablo 4 after the less-than-ideal experience with Diablo Immortal‘s microtransactions. It’s also almost 11 years since Diablo 3 came out, and many longtime fans might be raring to see how the story will progress further, especially with Lilith now tormenting the human world.

Diablo 4 releases June 6 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
