Kingdom Hearts 3 is Leaving Xbox Game Pass Soon

Microsoft confirms that Kingdom Hearts 3 is going to be leaving its Xbox Game Pass subscription service in the near future.

Kingdom Hearts 3 was a game over a decade in the making, and when it finally launched in 2019 it earned mostly positive reviews and was generally well-received by fans. Kingdom Hearts 3 was added to Xbox Game Pass a little over a year after it first launched, with subscribers able to play the game since February of 2020. Unfortunately for Kingdom Hearts fans, it seems that Kingdom Hearts 3‘s availability on Xbox Game Pass is nearly at end.

Microsoft has confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 3 is leaving Xbox Game Pass later in January 2022 along with six other games that are getting the boot from the service. PUBG: Battlegrounds is being removed on January 10 as the popular battle royale is going free-to-play on January 20, but then the rest of the games, including Kingdom Hearts 3, are getting removed come Saturday, January 15. This gives Xbox Game Pass subscribers a little less than two weeks to complete the popular action-RPG.

It takes about 30 hours to beat Kingdom Hearts 3 on average, so it’s certainly within the realm of possibility that fans will be able to play through the game before it leaves Xbox Game Pass. Whether or not fans have time to 100% the game by that time is another matter entirely, however, as doing everything in Kingdom Hearts 3 is definitely a significant time commitment. It will likely take Kingdom Hearts 3 players double the amount of time to 100% the game as it does to simply beat the story.

There is also the post-launch content for Kingdom Hearts 3 fans to keep in mind as well. Alternatively, someone that wants to keep Kingdom Hearts 3 in their collection or doesn’t have time to beat it before it’s gone may want to buy the base game while it’s still on Game Pass because all Xbox Game Pass games are available at a 20% discount.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is definitely one of the more significant games leaving Xbox Game Pass in January 2022, but there’s another high profile game fans may want to prioritize as well. Critically-acclaimed stealth tactics game Desperados 3 is also getting removed on January 15, so Game Pass subscribers interested in that particular game should make sure to give it a try while they still can.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One with a Nintendo Switch version also in development.
