When the odds were stacked against them, one skilled Call of Duty: Warzone 2 player managed to steal the victory away. This player was the last person left in their squad in Call of Duty: Warzone 2, and it looked as though their time was running out as the gas crept closer, but they didn’t give up. As the circle closes and forces all the players into one single area, the scene explodes with action as the remaining teams scramble for victory. When the clip starts there are six teams left, a total of eight other people, and they all seem to aim for the clip’s protagonist.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 was released in November of last year and has the same winning formula as other battle royale shooters where players drop in, find loot, and shoot it out while trying to survive to the end. While on the battlefield, a slowly shrinking circle marks the safe zone, and everything outside of it gets killed by gas, though it won’t kill players immediately. They just take chip damage until they enter the circle again, allowing some risk-takers to hide in the gas for a short time and shoot at players preoccupied with sprinting to the safe zone.
Reddit user McCloudUK posted the clip a week ago showing him walking the perimeter of a shrinking circle of gas before noticing and taking out two enemy squad mates who were on the highway next to the observatory. As soon as he kills them, switches from his assault rifle, and kills their buddy on the ledge below, he sees the firefight they were looking at– the remaining teams are fighting at the bottom of the hill. Though they took one team out, there are still 5 surrounding them, and while they get tagged and downed, they manage to self-revive and parachute down to the bottom of the hill where they take a few more out before getting downed again. There’s just enough of a hill to block the enemy’s shots as they self-revive yet again and manage to kill their attacker, winning the game.
Players in the comments were amazed at how long so many Warzone 2 players were able to hang out within the gas cloud shooting at each other. Some remarked that being able to last so long out of bounds doesn’t make sense, especially toward the end of the game. They felt that the gas should progressively do more damage as the game moves on, more effectively forcing players to respect it and stay within the circle.
McCloudUk expressed that they should have lost the game, which may just be a humble way of saying how ridiculously well they played, but they are the winner and get a pretty cool clip to show for it. Besides, they were an active part of that ending and made it happen, killing the other seven Warzone 2 players on their own.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is available to play on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S
