Cooper and Mero get to take home the $1,000,000 cash prize and the FNCS victory cup after winning the Fortnite Champion Series Global Championship 2023. After kicking off back in February, this year’s FNCS has come to an end, and there is no doubt that the Fortnite Championship Series 2023 has been a long, hard road. The best of the best in the Fortnite competitive scene have been battling it out for the majority of 2023, and it all came to a close on October 15 in Copenhagen.

The FNCS 2023 consisted of four Majors, during which the toughest Fortnite players faced each other to move on to the next phases and eventually make it to the in-person Global Championship LAN event in Copenhagen. The LAN event lasted three days, starting on October 13 and ending with the Grand Finals on October 15. Fans could purchase tickets and watch the event live in Copenhagen, or they could watch it at Legends Landing and win some exclusive in-game FNCS goodies.

The Grand Finals included the top 25 duos from the Upper Bracket and the top 25 duos from the Lower Bracket. During the last day of the Global Championship, these players went against each other in six Battle Royale matches. Just like most competitive Fortnite events, gamers received points based on the number of eliminations they got in each match and their final placement. In the end, Cooper and Mero came out on top and took the FNCS trophy home.

The young players have managed to win the impressive $1,000,000 prize. Various fans were shocked when they learned the ages of the Fortnite world champions. Mero is 19 years old, and Cooper is just 16. Both gamers have a bright future in front of them, as it seems their gaming career has proved to be a success so far.

Another shocking idea to many is the fact that Mero is a controller player. The controller versus keyboard discussion has always been a source of heated arguments in the Fortnite community, and this only goes to show that controller players can get just as far as those who prefer to use a keyboard and mouse. Players interested in knowing more about Mero’s preferences might be surprised to learn that he uses a standard Sony DualShock 4 controller that many gamers have at home. This young player is an inspiration for any fan who enjoys playing Fortnite with a controller and wants to get far in the competitive scene.

Fortnite is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
