Twitch streamer Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker has vowed to pay for dogs’ adoption fees. Earlier in the day, Hasan went around many adoption facilities in California and streamed it on his Twitch channel.
Hasan is well-known for his commentary videos covering various topics, from streaming and entertainment news to political issues. Because of his strong opinions, Hasan has been involved in many dramas with other content creators. Despite these controversies, he has garnered over 2.5 million followers and is one of the most-watched streamers on Twitch.
Many of Hasan’s longtime followers also know that he has a soft spot for dogs. In the last few months, he’s shared plans to adopt one after his pitbull Fish passed away in 2020. As part of his ongoing “puppy arc,” he visited animal shelters in California with fellow streamers Valkyrae, Fuslie, and Miyoung to search for a new dog companion. He also pledged to pay every dog’s adoption fees in all the facilities he visited to make it easier for potential owners to find a home for them.
In the stream, Hasan has managed to fulfill his promise in the places he visited, but also encountered a roadblock in some facilities because of broken computer systems. Fortunately, he was told he could still pay for the adoption fees through other ways. As of writing, he wasn’t able to adopt a dog yet, but he plans on visiting more shelters in the coming days and will likely continue his mission to help out dogs in need. He also took the time to let people know that they could volunteer or donate to facilities near them.
Hasan’s stream had a steady viewer count of over 50,000 as many fans seemed entertained by the adorable dogs he interacted with, and have been cheering the streamer on while he’s looking for his next pet. Valkyrae, Fuslie, and Miyoung also helped Hasan decide on choosing the big dog that he always wanted, which many fans also seemed to appreciate.
This isn’t the first time Hasan did a charitable effort, as he raised $1 million for Turkey-Syria earthquake relief and also donated $100,000 to Strike Funds in support of union workers. Apart from his entertaining yet scathing commentary, many followers seem to come back to his Twitch streams because of his kindhearted acts. It might take a while for Hasan to find the right dog, but his fans would likely be back to join his IRL adventures.
