Green Hell VR is Available Now on Steam

People Can Fly and Incuvo Games’ Green Hell VR, a VR adaptation of a beloved survival game, is officially available on Steam now.

Back in April, Green Hell VR was released on the Oculus Quest 2. It was wildly successful, topping the Oculus Store’s best-seller list and getting tons of positive feedback from fans. VR adaptation is not an easy process, requiring developers to often build everything from the ground up, and that particular eye for detail is realized in Green Hell VR.

Now, those who were waiting for it on Steam can rejoice and download it now. Green Hell VR released on Steam during the Upload VR Showcase on June 9, debuting with a brand new launch trailer as seen below. To celebrate this release, players who pick it up prior to June 16 will get a 10% discount off its $24.99 launch Price (making it $22.49). This deal may not seem like much of a savings, but for fans of VR and survival games, it’s the cherry on top of its release.

Furthermore, until June 22, 2022, Steam users can get the original PC title, as well as Green Hell VR, for a bundle discount of 20%. In Green Hell VR, the Amazon Rainforest is brought to life in all its splendor and danger. Players take on the role of Jake Higgins who, lost in the forest, must search for his wife Mia. The game requires players to navigate with landmarks, learn about the foliage of the jungle, learn what plans are helpful and which are deadly, and overall, utilize 60 different gameplay mechanics in Green Hell VR (from healing and crafting to hunting and combat) to survive.

As of this writing, there are 89 user reviews for the game on Steam’s platform. They all rank “overwhelmingly positive.” One Steam user wrote that it “is an absolute must play” and that it set “a new bar for future flatscreen [to] VR ports.” Another user specifically praised the Green Hell VR’s detailed mechanics, writing…

From manually rubbing sticks together to start a fire, to literally throwing a grapple hook up a cliff to manually climb, Green Hell VR does VR better than most made for VR games do VR. If you are a fan of survival games and own PCVR, this is a must buy 100%.

Incuvo Games CEO Andrzej Wychowaniec also recently spoke with Game Rant about the process of making a VR adaptation of Green Hell (and other titles – click the link to check out our interview). There’s no doubt that Green Hell VR was a labor of love, and it’s nice to see it all paying off with its rock-solid reception.

Green Hell VR is available now on Meta Quest 2 and releases for Steam on June 9.
