The arrival of a new character is probably one of the most exciting events in Genshin Impact. However, some existing characters are so popular that their appearance in a banner re-run is even more desirable than a new addition to the playable roster.
Banner re-runs have become very frequent in the last couple of Genshin Impact updates. A recent tweet from a credible leaker has revealed an interesting theory for one of the upcoming updates.
Genshin Impact leaker Ubatcha1 has posted a tweet about the return of the fan-favorite Raiden Shogun. They claim that she is expected to appear again in update 2.5 which, according to miHoYo’s usual schedule, should arrive around February 20. Five-star characters usually receive a re-run five updates after their initial release. Raiden Shogun arrived with Version 2.0 which means that players could face another Genshin Impact banner re-run.
Since her release, Raiden Shogun has become one of, if not the most popular, character in the game and she still holds the record for being the most pulled character on a limited banner. Raiden is considered to be a very strong support character in Genshin Impact at the moment, on par with Zhongli, Venti and Kazuha. She provides numerous buffs even while not being used which is good for the majority of team compositions.
Raiden’s biggest draw is probably that she is probably the most free-to-play friendly five-star character in Gesnhin Impact since she’s a top-tier support even at zero constellations. Most five-stars are required to be pulled numerous times to build up their constellations in order to awake their full potential, like Xiao or Childe. Luckily that is not the case with Raiden Shogun since the difference between C0 and C6 is not as big for her, like most other characters.
Rumors have also been hinting that Raiden could be joined by another popular Genshin Impact character Yae Miko who’s also been predicted to be a part of the same update. This also makes sense story-wise considering that these two characters are very close in the game’s lore. Yae Miko has quickly become a fan-favorite since her appearance in update trailers for 2.0 and 2.1 which made clear that she would be a part of the following updates. Rumors have been hinting that she will be a very strong DPS character.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
