Playable characters are probably one of Genshin Impact‘s greatest asset considering that they are its main source of revenue. Limited five-star characters appear on the game’s Limited Banner which keeps rotating items every six to seven weeks.
Each Genshin Impact update is divided into two banner cycles which feature one or two five-star characters and three four-star characters, as well as a unique Weapon Banner. A recent post on the game’s subreddit shows an interesting chart of the current Genshin Impact banner revenue.
Reddit user Training_Holiday has showed that the current Kamisato Ayaka banner has become the most popular one in terms in revenue by surpassing one of the recent double banners that featured Raiden Shogun and Sangonomiya Kokomi. Kamisato Ayaka has received her first banner re-run in the second part of the ongoing Genshin Impact Version 2.6. The first banner cycle brought two popular characters, Kamisato Ayato and the Anemo Archon Venti.
One of the reasons for the banner’s success is probably because it’s the longest lasting Limited Banner in the game’s history meaning that players had more time to spend their Primogems on it. This banner extension has been caused by an update delay for Genshin Impact Version 2.7. Even though developer HoYoverse has yet to confirm the reason behind the delay, the fans suspect that it’s due to the complicated COVID-19 situation in Shanghai.
Another reason for the banner’s popularity is the fact that Kamisato Ayaka is one of the strongest DPS characters in Genshin Impact. She is a five-star Cryo character with a strong focus on dealing Elemental Damage. Ayaka was part of the game’s original beta phase and her first banner appearance was back in Genshin Impact Version 2.0. She has great synergy with her brother Kamisato Ayato since their elements can trigger one of the strongest Elemental reactions in the game, Frozen.
HoYoverse has already revealed the two characters that will arrive in the upcoming Genshin Impact update 2.7, Yelan and Kuki Shinobu. Yelan will be a new five-star Hydro Vision holder who is rumored to be a support or sub-DPS character whose power scales with health which is unusual for bow users. She will appear on a double banner in the first part of the update alongside Anemo character Xiao. Kuki Shinobu is a four-star Electro character who’s scheduled to arrive on the second part of the update on the same banner as Arataki Itto.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
