The official Genshin Impact Twitter account has revealed that the special program for the game’s new version will premiere on the game’s Twitch channel on December 26th, 2021 at 7:00 a.m. (UTC-5). MiHoYo’s free-to-play game is currently approaching its final weeks of version 2.3.
Many players have embarked on a journey in the fantasy world of Teyvat since the release of Genshin Impact in 2020. As one of the most popular recent titles in the gaming industry, more information on version 2.4 of the game is bound to cause excitement in the fandom.
Each new update in Genshin Impact usually consists of two banners, a new character, and a re-run. In version 2.4, it has already been announced that there will be two new characters added to Genshin Impact‘s roster. These characters are named Shenhe and Yun Jin. According to the lore, Yun Jin is a singer, dancer, and brewer who works at the popular Heyu Tea House. There have also been rumors and multiple leaks made about the new update already. Some of these leaks suggest that the version 2.4 could include a new skin for Ningguang and a banner re-run for Xiao and Ganyu.
Ningguang’s new skin is named Orchid’s Evening Gown and will be available for free by completing event quests. Not only may Ningguang receive a new skin, but previous leaks have shared that Keqing will also get a new skin in the newest update. This skin is called Opulent Splendor, and players will reportedly need to spend Genesis Crystals to acquire it.
New Genshin Impact updates usually bring at least two sets of events, and a creditable leaker has revealed that additional information about the Lantern Rite event will be in the 2.4 update. According to the leaks, the new event will have smelting fireworks, minigames in Guyun Stone Forest, and a new boss with a three-headed hydra. This hydra is a familiar presence in Genshin Impact. The rumored new boss is none other than The Oceanic Defender, also known as Osial.
Osial was orginally defeated by the Liyue squad after Tartaglia broke the legendary seal. It seems like MiHoYo may decide to bring back the monster, and it will most likely be part of Enkanomiya, Genshin Impact‘s rumored newest region. With so many leaks and buzz surrounding the new update, it will be interesting to see what the program reveals on the 26th.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
