Overwatch was released in 2016, and ever since then, players have been sharing all sorts of entertaining videos with the gaming community. From skillful plays to unlucky moments, there is no shortage of highlights to watch from the game. Recently, one player shared an encounter that turned the team-based 6v6 shooter into a life or death race.
In a post on Reddit, a user known as Htial12 shared a clip of an unfortunate yet amusing experience they had while playing Hanzo in Overwatch. The series of unlucky events took place on the Control map known as Oasis. While attempting to capture the point on the Gardens section of the map, Htial12 was hit by an Ashe dynamite. Set on fire and slowly losing health, the Hanzo player made a mad dash for a Health Pack close to the objective.
As they raced to replenish their rapidly depleting health bar, the camera switched to a third-person view to get a better perspective of the action. In addition, the urgency of the situation was elevated by the inclusion of some skillful edits and intense music in the video. Despite their decreasing health, it appeared as though the player was going to make it to the medkit. However, as often happens in Overwatch, things were about to take an unexpected turn for the worst.
Just when it looked like the Hanzo player was going to grab the Health Pack, an allied D.Va player turned the corner. To the horror of Htial12, the friendly tank snatched the Health Pack from right in front of them. Deprived of the essential healing, the Hanzo player fell to the floor and was killed by the fire. Adding to the humor of the situation, the D.Va player then turned around after seeing the lifeless corpse of Hanzo next to the Health Pack location.
This clip posted by Htial12 caught the attention of numerous members of the Overwatch community on Reddit. With an incredible 23.8K upvotes, many found this video hilarious. In addition, some commented that the editing and music track made it even better. “It cutting to him landing face-first literally had me bust out laughing,” one person said. Furthermore, others believed that the best part was the D.Va player’s acknowledgment at the end of the clip. “I love how the D.Va stopped to look at you for a second then shrugs ‘oh well’ and gets back to the fight,” another gamer noted.
It is always exciting to see players show incredible highlights from recent games of Overwatch. Besides this clip posted by Htial12, another gamer recently shared a video of a hilarious battle between opposing Reinhardt players. It will be interesting to see what other highlights fans share with the community in the coming days.
