Former Dragon Age Dev Reveals Co-Op Game Nightingale

Former Dragon Age developer Aaryn Flynn is bringing a new kind of action-adventure game to PC next year in the form of Nightingale.

Among the big announcements at The Game Awards was the reveal of a new title from former Bioware General Manager Aaryn Flynn. His current company, Improbable Worlds Limited unveiled its newest title, Nightingale as part of the main show at The Game Awards.

Earlier in the week, the former Dragon Age developer had teased that he would be showing off his upcoming MMORPG. On Thursday, he delivered a brand new trailer that showed off the story that is going to be behind Nightingale.

Not only did Nightingale join the other big games that got revealed as part of The Game Awards, Flynn made an appearance at the event to talk about and shed a bit more light on the upcoming “shared experience” title.

In this new action-adventure game, players will take on characters that have been stranded in the faery realms. Cut off from their own world by the collapse of the arcane portal network, users will need to keep their characters alive while fighting off hordes of fantastical creatures that are bent on killing the strange visitors to their lands.

Nightingale won’t be all about slashing and hacking, though. The game will also involve quite a bit of crafting, both of places to live and the weapons and tools that characters will need to survive.

This shared-world and open-world experience will allow players to play alone or with a friend in order to try and live through the challenges of the game. Users will also get their first look at the PC-only title at some point next year.

Nightingale is coming to the PC sometime in 2022.
