Steel Wool Games has revealed that Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 is set for release on December 14, along with some gameplay details players can expect. The game developer previously mentioned it is releasing FNAF: Help Wanted 2 sometime in late December; the game is releasing earlier than expected.

Scott Cawthon’s FNAF series has grown in popularity following the release of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach – RUIN and Universal Pictures’ movie adaptation of the original game, despite the latter’s negative reviews. As such, fans have been looking forward to knowing more about the latest in the series through Help Wanted 2, a game Steel Wool Games teased at this year’s PlayStation Showcase. With the game developer being silent about the details of Help Wanted 2, fans speculated that Circus Baby might be making a comeback in the game and that it will take place in Sister Location, where FNAF: Sister Location was set. However, it seems that Steel Wool Games is finally removing some of the guesswork about Help Wanted 2.

Steel Wool Games Executive Producer Ray McCaffrey stated in a PlayStation Blog post that Help Wanted 2 is coming out for the PS VR2 on December 14 – earlier than the late December release window it previously gave. McCaffrey also revealed a few gameplay details players can look forward to experiencing once it is out. According to them, players can expect that Help Wanted 2 will be different each time they play, making it “dynamic enough” for them to want to play it repeatedly. They also said that Steel Works’ team worked to keep the spirit of the original when it designed many of Help Wanted 2‘s minigames, much like it did in Help Wanted.

When is Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 Coming Out?

  • Five Nights at Freddy’s 2: Help Wanted 2 is set for release on December 14 for the PS VR2.

Speaking of minigames, Help Wanted 2 has seven minigame categories, with one of them containing the new VR versions of FNAF: Sister Location, allowing fans to experience that game in VR. As with Help Wanted with the PS VR, Steel Wool developed Help Wanted 2 to utilize the PS VR2’s features (haptics, 3D audio, etc.) to provide players the fright they aim to deliver. One of Help Wanted 2‘s minigames uses the PS VR2’s eye-tracking system to allow Mystic Hippo to “read the minds” of players who wish to challenge her powers of perception.

Based on MacCaffrey’s statements, it is unclear if they were hinting that the experience Help Wanted 2 provides will be procedurally generated like Starfield’s random quests. It is also unknown if Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 will be the last FNAF game creator Scott Cawthon is involved in following their decision to retire from the series, as rumors suggest. Regardless, it is only a matter of time until fans get the answers to prove or disprove their speculations about the game.
