Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker is Currently the Highest User Rated Game of 2021 on Metacritic

Square Enix’s ever-popular MMO, Final Fantasy 14, is currently the highest user rated game of this year on Metacritic.

Final Fantasy 14 players have been patiently waiting for the launch of its new expansion, Endwalker. This is the culmination of the ten-year story in the Final Fantasy MMO, providing a hefty amount of new content for fans. Final Fantasy 14 has been set back with a couple of delays as well, only adding to fans’ anticipation and hype. With the expansion now live for many players, those who have managed to play through it have been loving what it has offered.

The excitement and love this expansion received has caused the live player count of Final Fantasy 14 to nearly double in size, with many players eager to get in on the action. Some of the enticing new additions that Endwalker introduced include new job classes, male viera, and so much more. This includes a brand-new region to explore, which includes the surface of the Moon, home of the enemies that the players have been fighting against the whole time since the start of the MMO’s story. With all of these new additions and thrilling conclusion, it’s little surprise that Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker has some pretty high user scores.

With a fanbase as fiercely loyal as Final Fantasy 14‘s, along with such a supportive team of developers throughout the years, Endwalker currently holds one of the highest score among users regarding games that have come out this year. While there are currently not many review scores from other publications yet on the site, the average score for the expansion is a 9.5 as of this writing.

FF14 Endwalker Meta Critic User Score

Compared to other stellar games that have released this year, such as Monster Hunter Rise, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, or even the TGA’s Game of the Year winner It Takes Two, which all boast user scores of 8.5-9.2, Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker stands tall. It’s not surprising that the game also ended up winning Best Ongoing Game and Best Community Support at that same Game Awards as well.

With over 500 user rated reviews, many of these fans have left many positive comments about the expansion. These range from Endwalker‘s beautiful cinematics and visuals, to the conclusion of the decade-long saga that started back in 2011. While more user reviews are bound to come in that will eventually cause the score to be lowered, this is still an impressive rating for Endwalker to receive almost out of the gate.

Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
