The developers of the Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London have shed more light on what new weapons, locations, and features have been added to the mod. This ambitious project has been in development for several years and is expected to be one of the largest mods ever made for Fallout 4.
Fallout: London is a fan mod for Fallout 4 that will take players to a post-apocalyptic London, unfamiliar territory for the Fallout series, which typically takes place in the United States. Fallout: London is a mod comparable in scale to the DLC for Fallout games such as Fallout 4: Far Harbor or Fallout 3: The Pitt, but now in an entirely new setting. Players have gotten a taste of this mod thanks to the demo for Fallout: London which was released in August of last year.
In its latest progress video, the development team for Fallout: London has given fans a new look at what they can expect to see when the full mod releases. This includes new weapons like the Laser Lewis Gun and Viper MK 1 which are based on real-life guns used by the British in World War I and World War II, respectively. Additionally, some of the mod’s environmental work was showcased, such as location-accurate signage, uniquely designed advertisements for fictional products, and fully animated and usable ladders that are similar to the previously shown working train system in Fallout: London.
A highlight of this progress video is the integration of features from other Fallout games such as the radial quest markers from Fallout 76 and the timer system from the original Fallout, both of which are implemented with unique art assets. The Mysterious Stranger who has appeared as an enigmatic ally throughout the Fallout series is also brought into Fallout: London with “a British twist” as he is now accompanied by a tune reminiscent of the iconic James Bond theme. The video ends with a reminder that the window to apply to be a voice actor in Fallout: London closes at the end of this month.
Fallout: London has yet to get a specific release date, but development on the mod has been demonstrated to be progressing well, and Fallout: London is still set for a 2023 release. While not made by Bethesda Game Studios, the massive amount of effort being put into it shows that Fallout fans clearly have a lot to look forward to. There is still plenty that remains to be seen from the Fallout: London team, but fans will likely not have to wait much longer to see what is in store.
Fallout: London is set to release in 2023 for PC.
