Capcom has revealed a wave of new information regarding Exoprimal, including its open beta dates, Deluxe Edition contents, and battle pass plans. Earlier today Exoprimal‘s June 14 release date leaked, and it has since been confirmed as part of the Capcom Spotlight event. The release date was just the start of Capcom’s Exoprimal announcements for the day, however. And while June may seem far off, Capcom appears set to let fans try Exoprimal out much sooner than that.
Exoprimal is Capcom’s upcoming premium multiplayer shooter where players take on the role of an Exofighter battling hordes of mutant dinosaurs controlled by a rogue artificial intelligence. It is, at its heart, a live service game, designed to be played endlessly with ever-ramping progression systems. An early closed beta from July and August 2022 led to a wave of interest in Exoprimal, and fans have been waiting for news regarding its previously teased open beta since.
The open beta for Exoprimal has now been officially announced. Players will be able to try Exoprimal for themselves starting March 17, with the beta lasting through the weekend and ending March 19. The beta will include new classes missing from the closed beta that was shown in the Exoprimal Capcom Spotlight trailer. With Exoprimal still four months away from launch, a beta opening up in just one week is quite a surprise.
Exoprimal‘s Deluxe Edition was also announced. The standard edition of the game will be offered for $59.99 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The Deluxe Edition of Exoprimal will cost an additional $10, for a total of $69.99. For the higher price, Exoprimal buyers will receive a Heart Start Kit featuring three skins and the first Survival Pass premium unlock.
The battle pass, dubbed the Survival Pass in Exoprimal, is exactly what one would expect. It features both a free track, available for all Exoprimal players, and a premium track, featuring a significant amount of extra cosmetic awards. The first season of the premium Survival Pass will reward 19 different Exosuit skins, 10 weapon skins, as well as several emotes, decals, stamps, and more.
Other details shared during the event include a trio of Exosuit skins offered as a pre-order bonus and a re-confirmation that Exoprimal will be available as a Day One Xbox Game Pass release. If the $60 price point is too expensive for a purchase, then Xbox Game Pass may be a more affordable option. Players can at least try before they buy when Exoprimal‘s open beta starts on March 16.
Exoprimal releases July 14 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
