Elden Ring: Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear Can Be Used to Kill AFK Rune Farmers

Elden Ring players have figured out several ways of quickly obtaining a massive number of runes. There are some dedicated farming spots in the game, but they are not as fast as using tricks or exploits. One such method is known as AFK rune farming in Elden Ring, and it’s possibly having a considerable negative impact on the multiplayer experience for many users.

This trick is reasonably easy to execute. Players will need to use the Furlcalling Finger Remedy, the White Cipher Ring, and the Taunter’s Tongue multiplayer items. This will lure an invader to their world, in addition to a hunter, who will be tasked with killing the invader. Now, players need to hide and pray that either the hunter kills the invader or the latter decides to leave, which will net them an abundance of runes. Other Elden Ring players are starting to find clever tactics to combat this issue, and one user may have just discovered the perfect weapon for this job.

GAMERANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

A user named probadplayer found out that Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear can be used to attack players that are AFK on rooftops. Probadplayer also uploaded a clip featuring the weapon in action, and it shows them using the weapon skill Bloodboon Ritual to attack the host on the roof of the building. It took several hits, but probadplayer does manage to defeat the host without any difficulty. It’s also hilarious to watch the host roll in panic in the hopes of avoiding the attack.

However, getting this weapon is not that simple, and it requires players to be pretty deep into Elden Ring. They first need to get to Mohgwyn Palace, which can be accessed via a hidden portal in the Consecrated Snowfields, and then defeat Mohg at the end of this level. Mohg is not an easy boss by any means, and players will have to deal with an incredibly annoying attack midway through the encounter.

After defeating the boss, they can exchange the Remembrance of the Blood Lord for Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear at the Roundtable Hold. It requires 24 Strength, 14 Dexterity, and 27 Arcane to wield effectively, but users can easily respec in Elden Ring if they do not meet the stat requirement.

Many users are posting comments with the word Nihil, which references one of Mohg’s attacks, while another player claims that Radahn’s weapon Starscourge Greatsword also reaches Elden Ring’s AFK rune farmers. Many seem frustrated by such incidents, and the comments are filled with players thanking probadplayer for this PSA.

Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
