Elden Ring and Star Wars may not seem like the most obvious crossover, as one setting is more of a dark fantasy while the other is epic science fiction. However, fans of FromSoftware’s latest RPG have been implementing Star Wars characters and builds since the game first launched. Thanks to the extensive character creator, fans have been able to make a rendition of Darth Maul from The Phantom Menace and plenty of other characters.
Besides making their Tarnished look like a Star Wars character, Elden Ring players have been able to make builds that are somewhat similar to lightsaber combat. Again related to Darth Maul, the twinblade in Elden Ring can be used in combination with certain spells in order to create a powerful build based around the famous Sith. However, now an Elden Ring modder has allowed players to truly embrace the dark side in-game and play as either Darth Vader or use Darth Maul’s lightsabers.
The mods stem from modder Xelerate and can be found on their Nexus Mods page. First are the double-bladed lightsaber packs, which replace the Godskin Peeler twinblade in Elden Ring. Unfortunately, a Darth Maul skin hasn’t been added as yet, but there is one in the works that Xelerate says will be released soon. Then, there is Darth Vader’s signature suit, which replaces the Confessor armor set in the game. The Confessor class in Elden Ring makes for an interesting comparison with Darth Vader, as the former is said to be as adept with a blade as they are with their incantations. This marks a clear similarity with Darth Vader’s combat style, which focuses on both the use of the Force and some incredible lightsaber skills.
The mods are shown off with a comedic clip posted by Xelerate which shows a recreation of Darth Vader in Elden Ring, even displaying his single-bladed lightsaber, which may also be in the pipeline since the modder has stated that there will be additional Star Wars mods in the future. While some fans have been able to make Star Wars characters in the game and even have builds that reflect these characters, mods in Elden Ring can provide players with an experience that the base game cannot. However, it should be noted that while Elden Ring mods can give players some cool new features, they are recommended to be used only in offline mode. Otherwise, a user risks having their account flagged for cheating.
As well as giving Elden Ring players a chance to live out their Star Wars dreams, mods have also allowed for different crossovers between FromSoftware’s game and others. Those who want to take on the world of Elden Ring as Kratos from God of War can pick up the Leviathan Axe and Blade of Olympus, for example, but the player will have to make their version of the God of War themselves.
Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
