Blizzard has finally introduced the vampiric Dark Master, Zir of the Ancients, who is the main villain for Diablo 4 Season of Blood. The leader of the vampire army was revealed via a recent gameplay trailer that also showcased some of the class-specific abilities and the vampiric powers available to players in Diablo 4 Season of Blood.

Diablo 4 has been going through a rough patch recently as players repeatedly complained about a lack of content in the game. This also led to a possible drop in player count, which was one of the reasons fans were able to farm PvP zones in Diablo 4 very easily. A sharp drop in its Twitch viewership was another indicator of a dip in the game’s popularity. However, Blizzard is looking to turn things around with the Season 2 update, which promises to add a boatload of content to the game along with some highly-requested changes. Now, Blizzard has finally revealed the villain of the new seasonal storyline along with a glimpse of the gameplay.

In a video posted on YouTube, Diablo 4 introduced Zir, the vampiric Dark Master who plans to take over Sanctuary with their army of vampires. The new questline will require players to seek out Zir and put an end to their schemes. Along with this, the video also showed glimpses of the new vampiric abilities that different character classes will be able to use, along with some upgrades to the current abilities for Sorcerers, Druids, and Necromancers. Lastly, it showcased 3 out of the 5 new endgame bosses and also revealed new rewards players can obtain during the season.

Apart from glimpses of the actual seasonal gameplay, the video only showcased what was already announced in recent developer livestreams. Considering the size of this update and the expectations players have from it, Blizzard is leaving no stone unturned in hyping it up. However, the developer might have gone a little overboard with its promotions as it recently took down a Diablo 4 Season of Blood video which was full of inaccuracies. Although, it didn’t really shake players’ sentiments regarding the update as the community members found the mistakes to be extremely hilarious.

Aside from this, Season of Blood is also introducing some important changes to the game. For instance, players will now be able to level up 40% faster in Diablo 4 Season 2 with increased XP scaling after level 50. Additionally, individual character classes and the way damage is calculated in the game are also getting an extreme makeover.

Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
