Destiny 2 players are currently celebrating Bungie’s 30th anniversary with the looter shooter’s 30th Anniversary Pack, which was released two days ago. It includes one of Destiny 2‘s best activities yet, Dares of Eternity, and it also comes with a new pirate-themed Dungeon called Grasp of Avarice. The DLC also contains plenty of weapons inspired by Bungie’s past work on games like Myth and Marathon, as well as the original Halo trilogy, and it is a great way to kick the holiday season for fans.
Next week, though, Destiny 2 players will be able to welcome Eva Levante back to the Tower in time for the Dawning event, when the Vanguard’s base of operations will be covered in snow and it will be time for Guardians to give cookies to other characters. Just like this year’s Festival of the Lost did with Jurassic Green, the Dawning will bring a new weapon for players to farm, as well as an old acquaintance in the form of Glacioclasm.
Glacioclasm is a Dawning-exclusive fusion rifle that players could obtain last year as well, but this year it seems that the data in the API shows that the gun is coming with two new perks in its pool: Subsistence and Reservoir Burst. Destiny 2‘s Season of the Lost is all about fusion rifles already, with Particle Deconstruction dominating the meta for another two and a half months until The Witch Queen is finally released in February. Thus, a Reddit user by the name of nev_rtheless was excited to share the discovery of how powerful these two perks are, and also that they can roll together.
Subsistence makes weapon kills refill the magazine from reserves, which is already huge in and of itself, whereas Reservoir Burst is a fusion rifle-exclusive perk that makes the first shot in the magazine deal AoE damage after a kill. These two perks combined would make Glacioclasm one of Destiny 2‘s most OP weapons, even if the gun’s archetype is not the best due to it being a high-impact frame fusion rifle.
Bungie’s looter shooter is getting better with each new Season and expansion, and the 30th Anniversary Pack already brought back one of the franchise’s most powerful weapons – Gjallarhorn. Because Gjallarhorn is an Exotic rocket launcher, players could possibly use it alongside Glacioclasm with the new perks, making for a loadout that’s incredibly strong against bosses and smaller enemies alike.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
