Custom Red Dead Redemption 2 Pet ID Tag Is Charming

The cat of a Red Dead Redemption 2 player received a cute ID tag inspired by Rockstar Games’ action-adventure game. This ID tag not only provides the information required in case the cat goes missing, but also showcases the owner’s love for the Red Dead Redemption 2 universe.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the third entry in the series, following 2004’s Red Dead Revolver and 2010’s Red Dead Redemption. This third installment in the franchise follows the adventures of outlaw Arthur Morgan and his companions as they try to survive in the declining Wild West of 1899. Red Dead Redemption 2 received many accolades when it came out in October 2018, including several Game of the Year awards. Over four years later, Red Dead Redemption 2 remains among the best-selling video games and is considered by some as one of the greatest games ever made with a Metacritic score of 97 out of 100.

A Reddit user known as SurreptitiousSquash shared pictures of their cat and its brand new pet ID tag inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2. The cat was named Morgan after the main character of the game, as SurreptitiousSquash adopted him at the SPCA after his previous owner described him as a “spicy boy,” which reminded the Red Dead Redemption 2 player of Arthur Morgan. The pet ID tag is also a nod to the game, with the silhouette key art above the cat’s name, which is written in Red Dead Redemption 2’s font. Besides pictures of the pet ID tag, SurreptitiousSquash shared various images of Morgan the cat, to the great pleasure of fellow Reddit users.

Red Dead Redemption 2 keeps inspiring players over four years after its initial release, with some sharing their original artwork on social media. While some artists publish their drawings and sculptures, others share more unusual pictures such as an odd stove featuring artwork from Red Dead Redemption 2. According to the owner of this themed stove, their mother is not a fan of seeing an outlaw pointing their gun at whoever comes near the kitchen appliance.

While Rockstar Games hasn’t yet declared whether it will develop a new entry in the Red Dead series, fans hope the studio will release a sequel to Red Dead Redemption 2. The success of this action-adventure game may lead the studio to create a new installment in the series, but Red Dead Redemption 3 will probably not appear in the near future because Rockstar Games is currently working on Grand Theft Auto 6, the highly anticipated sequel to 2013’s GTA 5.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
