Call of Duty Vanguard Season 2 Leak Suggests Ground War May Be incoming

A fresh leak of Call of Duty Vanguard Season 2 promotional images suggests that a grand-scale game mode, such as Ground War, may be coming.

Call of Duty Vanguard is no stranger to an occasional leak, but the latest unofficial reveal of upcoming content may be the biggest one yet. Thanks to the renowned Call of Duty leaker ZestyCODLeaks, fans now have a solid idea of what COD: Vanguard Season 2 may have in store for its players, with the most important reveal being that of a large-scale mode similar to Modern Warfare‘s Ground War.

Though the original Twitter post featuring the leaked materials had already been struck down by a DMCA, other users have taken to retweeting an Imgur library containing the leaks. Alongside the seemingly large map – the source of the rumor of Ground War mode in Call of Duty: Vanguard – the leak also contains information on three upcoming characters and at least three all-new firearms that eagle-eyed users may have already identified.

The only real suggestion of a large-scale game mode is the fact that the upcoming map seems to be substantially larger than any of the existing Call of Duty: Vanguard maps. As for the three new characters, these are Anna, Gustavo, and Thomas. More important for gameplay purposes, however, is the weapons. These seem to be the Colt-Browning M1895 “Potato Digger” LMG, the Knorr Bremse MG35, and the Armaguerra OG-43 submachine gun.

Call of Duty: Vanguard‘s Season 2 content is set to launch on February 14, and the leaked promotional images seem reasonably well-produced and in line with existing Vanguard materials of this type. Not only were they first made available via reliable Call of Duty leakers, but their original uploads have also since been taken down with DMCA warnings. This all lends credence to the leak’s validity.

Of course, there’s no telling if this is everything that players would get with the launch of COD: Vanguard Season 2. For example, though both Anna and Thomas did get their respective biographies leaked as well, there’s no such thing available for Gustavo. This means that there’s likely more to the official promo than is included with the leak, and that Activision Blizzard may have more content ready to go on February 14th.

As with any leak, players may wish to keep a pinch of salt at hand – just in case. The leaked materials certainly seem valid, and they are likely to have been professionally produced, but it’s a good idea to wait and see what the actual announcements will look like. Setting these leaks aside, it has also been revealed that COD: Vanguard would get a competitive ranked mode sometime in February, which may coincide with the release of Season 2.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series platforms.
