Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Reveals Patch Notes for Second Weekend of Beta

The patch notes for the second weekend of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s beta have been revealed, giving players more information about the changes coming to the game. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to launch later this year, and Activision is currently hosting a special beta event for players to get their hands on the title.

The beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 started on October 6, with PlayStation fans getting early access to it as a pre-order bonus. PC and Xbox players were able to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 from October 12, and the game will have an open beta for all platforms from October 14 to 16. These beta events provide a good opportunity for the development team to work on feedback, and Activision has now revealed the list of changes made to the game for its second beta weekend.

The Modern Warfare 3 beta update is now live, and it comes with a number of balance fixes and other tweaks along with some stability improvements. Starting with UI changes, enemy operators in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will now show a red nameplate above their heads, while the slide to sprint delay has been reduced by 200ms in this patch. The next section details all the changes made to weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, with the Striker SMG seeing a ton of nerfs. The Guardian-SC killstreak has also been nerfed, as its health and lifetime have both been reduced.

Coming to the other changes made in this update, player-driven vehicles will no longer have limited fuel in the Ground War game mode, while the overhead spawn camera sequence has been disabled in the Hardpoint mode.     • Decreased minimum damage from 23 to 21.
    • Increased headshot damage multiplier from 1.2x to 1.3x.
    • Increased lower-arm damage multiplier from 1x to 1.1x.

KILLSTREAKS

  • Guardian-SC
    • Decreased health from 550 to 400 (-27%).
    • Decreased lifetime from 120s to 60s (-50%).

MODES

  • Ground War
    • Vehicles driven by the player no longer have limited fuel.
  • Hardpoint
    • Disabled overhead spawn camera sequence upon respawn.

MAPS

  • Estate
    • Added collision near various areas of the Waterfall to prevent players from accessing unintended locations.
  • Favela
    • Players will no longer be killed immediately after respawning near the yellow car on the Side Street.
  • Popov Power (Ground War)
    • Added collision near Reactor Beta to prevent players from accessing an unintended location.

OPERATORS

  • Operator movement animations will now play properly in the moments following a respawn.

UIX

  • Added a missing icon for the Incursion XII Long Barrel Attachment for the SVA 545.
  • Players will now be properly notified of Playlist updates while idling in the menus.

STABILITY

  • Addressed a crash that occurred while matchmaking in the Ground War playlist.
  • Addressed multiple crashes that occurred while launching the game.
  • Resolved an issue that caused an error message stating “a required network service has failed” upon attempting to join another player’s party.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
