Players have discovered multiple hilarious Easter eggs etched onto bullets in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Fans are diving back into the game and discovering new details after the recent launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded.
Infinity Ward hasn’t been famous for including a lot of Easter eggs into its titles over the years, but players have discovered quite a few in its latest effort. One eagle-eyed gamer even managed to spot a Breaking Bad Easter egg in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign. In the Call of Duty series, the most notable Easter eggs are usually reserved for the Zombies game mode, and this is usually Treyarch’s specialty. With Treyarch’s next Call of Duty not expected until at least 2024, gamers will have to make do with the smaller Easter eggs that can be found in both Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games’ titles.
The first bullet Easter egg was initially posted to Reddit by user tristan_mua, who claimed to have discovered it due to a glitch. Etched around the bullet is the text “.50 BIG UWU SO MUCH OUCHIE,” which seems to be the work of a developer having a fun day at the office. Gamers in the thread appreciated the joke, with many admiring the dedication to including it despite the possibility it would have never been seen by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players.
The second bullet Easter egg was noticed by Redditor Scourgelol, and reads “9×19 LOVE BE MINE.” It’s interesting that the different ammo and weapon types in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 all seem to have different engravings on the bullets, so it remains to be seen if there are even more hidden engravings out there that players can find on other guns. While the glitch that causes this issue is well known, it’s still unsure what exactly causes the glitch to occur in-game.
Gamers remain in the dark about the future of Call of Duty. Rumors suggest that Call of Duty 2023 will continue the Modern Warfare series, with nothing confirmed yet. In the long term, the ongoing Microsoft acquisition of Activision places doubts about the future of the franchise on PlayStation platforms, despite Microsoft’s strong assertions to the contrary. If the deal goes through, only time will tell if the company remains true to its word. Fan appetite for the series remains as strong as ever, with the series remaining among the top casual shooters year-on-year.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
