Apex Legends Wintertide Collection Event Is Bringing Back Winter Express

As the Christmas season kicks off, Apex Legends is looking to bring it’s own Winter theme through the upcoming Wintertide Collection Event.

Respawn Entertainment has officially announced its upcoming Apex Legends Wintertide Collection Event which includes the fan favorite Winter Express. The update comes as the developers behind the hit battle royale appear to be ramping up efforts to pump more content to Apex Legends amid the ongoing season.

Currently in its 15th edition, the latest season titled Eclipse has brought the new map Broken Moon coupled with a variety of cosmetics including a new type, stickers. The more notable addition is the brand-new Legend Catalyst, who is Apex Legends‘ first trans character. As of now, Eclipse is scheduled to run from November to February 2023, making it the longest-running season of the game so far. This also means that fans could likely expect more content to keep players engaged throughout the season. While Respawn is yet to share its season-long content plan, the upcoming Wintertide Collection Event would come as a welcome announcement for players starved for new Apex Legends content.

As per the announcement, the Wintertide Collection Event launches on December 6 and will feature a Winter-themed Winter Express. The popular Winter Express made its entry all the way back in season 3, before returning in seasons 7, 11, and now 15. The event will also ship a number of winter cosmetics with legendary items for Bangalore, Crypto, Newcastle, Valkyrie, Gibraltar, and Bloodhound along with complementary weapons. Further, players will need to unlock all 24 limited time items in order to gain access to Wraith’s Prestige skin. Wintertide will run throughout December in three week slots until December 27.

With the reward tracker, players can rack up to 1,600 points per day and challenges will refresh daily. As with other recent limited-time events, these challenges stack up with the current season 15 battle pass which means gamers can complete multiple challenges at once. Additionally, Wintertide includes “Elf Made Pack” and “Mane Event Pack” bundles which will be available in the Apex Legends store for purchase. Other offers such as the “Swish-buckler” and the “Death Dealer Bonus” bundles will also make an appearance on the store during December 13-16 and December 16-20 periods respectively.

Apart from the announced event, there have been indications that Respawn may be getting ready for another limited time event. One leak points to a possible Magic Witch event on the way, though the developers haven’t officially confirmed anything. Either way, it’s an encouraging sign to see that Respawn is seemingly working on bringing more content to the game to keep things going. Though it would be interesting to see how the Apex Legends lore will continue to progress amid the long-running season 15 and beyond.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
