Over the various seasons of Apex Legends, many changes have taken place in the battle royale. For example, fans have already seen a number of balance updates for Legends in Season 11, such as a buff to Wattson’s abilities. However, there is never a shortage of suggestions from the community on ways to improve the game. Recently, one fan suggested that the next Legend in need of a buff was Mirage.
Part of the original cast, Mirage is an unlockable character in Apex Legends. Known as the Holographic Trickster, he comes equipped with several abilities that will likely keep his opponents confused during a skirmish. These abilities include Psyche Out, which lets him deploy a holographic duplicate of himself, along with a Passive that allows him to cloak while reviving and respawning teammates. In addition, his Ultimate, Life of the Party, deploys a platoon of decoys to distract opponents. While these abilities can be impactful, one gamer came up with an idea to make the Legend even better.
In a recent post on Reddit, a user known as Unparallel_Pilgrim shared an idea for how to improve Mirage’s holographic kit in Apex Legends. According to the Reddit user, the character needs a buff to his cloak ability, allowing himself to turn invisible while self-reviving. They believe that not only would this increase Legend’s effectiveness in late-game situations, but it also makes sense for his set of abilities. “I was thinking wouldn’t it make mirage more of a jack of all trades if he could cloak himself on self-res,” they postulated.
In addition to suggesting the self-revive buff for Mirage on Reddit, Unparallel_Pilgrim asked fellow gamers for their opinions on the topic. Unsurprisingly, numerous members of the Apex Legends community on Reddit responded. Many found the concept intriguing, with over 1,100 upvotes in less than a day. However, some were worried that it could make the Legend too powerful in battle. “It might be overpowered,” one player remarked.
Nevertheless, many others believed that the buff made sense for Mirage, with some already thinking it was part of his kit. In addition, one fan pointed out that self-reviving made a distinct sound when activated. They argued that this noise would prevent a self-revive buff for Mirage from becoming too powerful in late-game scenarios.
It is exciting to see members of the Apex Legends community come up with potential ways of improving the game. Following this suggested change for Mirage, it will be interesting to see if the developers at Respawn Entertainment consider buffing the Legend in the future. With the release of Season 12 expected sometime in the beginning of February, fans might not have long to see possible changes be implemented.
