Animal Crossing: New Horizons may not be the most talked about game anymore, but it maintains an active and loyal fan base. Sometimes, this community shares pieces of fan art, and one form this art takes is custom Animal Crossing: New Horizons Villagers.
While there are many Villagers to pick from in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, fans have gone out of their way to create their own, designing animal versions of characters from other games and film franchises. The three starter Pokemon from Scarlet and Violet have been given Villager formers, as has the cast of Encanto and Turning Red. Artists are only limited by their creativity when it comes to what franchises they pay homage to. As such, Marvel characters are not off limits, and one fan has shown this by making Khonshu a Villager.
The Egyptian god of the Moon and the source of Marc Spector’s abilities, Khonshu is constantly watching and guiding his avatar. While his goals are good, his methods of achieving them are questionable, and the Moon Knight Disney+ series does a great job of portraying Khonshu as a complex but manipulative figure. He also boasts a unique look that resembles his comic book appearance, with a large bird skull present alongside a mummy-like outfit. Both of these are present in the design from Reddit user StrawberryInu.
Just like the artist’s past work, their take on Khonshu is terrific, with the character taking the form of an Ostrich Villager. This is a wise decision, as not only can he maintain his beak and bird-shaped skull, but his large size is kept as well. Alongside a bony head, the character sports some black feathers on his lower body and bandages all across his torso and legs. The crescent moon symbol can be seen on his gold neckpiece, and to bring the design together, the Khonshu Villager is seen holding the same staff that he uses during the Moon Knight show.
Unsurprisingly, this post has been a big hit with fans of the MCU and Moon Knight, with the post bringing in over 7,000 upvotes. In the comments, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players suggested making Khonshu a grumpy type, a fitting role for the character. Not only would he have a deep voice, but these types of Villagers will often make remarks about their bones hurting – a great fit for what is essentially a walking skull.
With suggestions for catchphrases like “summon the suit,” as well as a push for Tawaret the Hippo to be drawn as a Villager as well, the comments section makes StrawberryInu’s post even better. While the next Animal Crossing game is likely a fair bit away, it would be fun to see it introduce a Villager that resembles this Khonshu art.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
